Pyongyang, August 9 (KCNA) — A ceremony of awarding state commendations to meritorious creators and artistes of the National Symphony Orchestra took place on Saturday to mark its 80th founding anniversary. After a relevant decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK was read out, Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, conferred the state commendations. Kim Il Sung Prize was conferred on Ho Mun Yong, a conductor of the orchestra. Order of National Flag First Class was awarded to a composer Kang Su Gi and Order of Labor to instrumentalists An Ryong Hwan, Pyon Song Ok and Han Chol.
