国立交響楽団が創立80周年を迎える

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) — The National Symphony Orchestra in the DPRK marked its 80th founding anniversary. The proud 80-year history covered by the symphony orchestra was a glorious one when it clearly demonstrated the validity and vitality of the unique ideology of attaching importance to music and leadership of the peerlessly great men who opened up a new history of Juche symphony. After watching the performance to celebrate the foundation of the then central symphony orchestra on August 8, 1946, President Kim Il Sung said that our music should be popular and revolutionary music that meets the revolutionary aspirations of the people who turned out in the building of a new country, and indicated important guidelines to be adhered to in the building of the art of music in a new Korea. Chairman Kim Jong Il gave precious instructions for the creation of Korean-style orchestral music and energetically led the symphony orchestra to creditably discharge its honorable mission of leading the development of Juche-oriented art. Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un watched performances of the National Symphony Orchestra several times, appreciated them and set higher goals for its creation, showing deep trust in the creators and artistes so that they could open up a new era of efflorescence of the Juche-oriented art with their high ability and artistic skill. A meeting was held at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on August 7 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra. Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and officials, creators, artistes and persons of merit of the National Symphony Orchestra and various art troupes.
