Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) — Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, has made successes in urban management and ecological environment protection. It asphalted at least 201,300 square meters of roads, improved rivers extending for 140 ri, landscaped not a few areas so far this year and repaired dwelling houses and public buildings. Central District and Songyo District asphalted roads and painted their floor lines as required by the technical regulations in a short span of time. Working people repaired over 40,000 square meters of pavements in a responsible manner. The municipality dredged small rivers in Jangsan and built a retaining wall and arranged fishing places, and installed garden lamps and stone desks. And it also replaced the old handrails of Ryonghung and Pipha bridges with the new ones. Sunan District finished improving a river extending for scores of ri in a little over a month. Sosong and Mangyongdae districts have landscaped some areas with trees of good species and ornamental flowers. And Pothonggang District planted new species of turfs in unoccupied grounds and is taking good care of them. Rangnang and Moranbong districts and Kangnam County achieved similar successes.
