In October 1951, the U.S. Air Force lost its 20 bombers in the sky above Namsi in a week, and from that time it ceased its daytime flight over Pyongyang. A Western military analyst said that 2,800 B-29 bombers possessed by the U.S. was defamed by the KPA Air Force. Even Commander of the U.S. forces in the Far East MacAthur confessed that he was disillusioned at the strategic value of air force.
