Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) — The V-Day of the DPRK, July 27, was splendidly celebrated across the country. Officials, working people, service personnel of the People’s Army, school youth and children visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, the statues of the President and the Chairman and the mosaics depicting the peerlessly great men in different parts of the country to pay tribute to them. Many people visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, martyrs cemeteries, memorial towers and graveyards for the fallen soldiers of the Korean People’s Army in different parts of the country. At the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, the visitors looked back upon the feats performed by the service personnel of the People’s Army who displayed matchless heroism and self-sacrificing spirit in the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War. Officials, working people, school youth and children across the country visited families of war veterans and persons of wartime merits to congratulate the revolutionary forerunners on the holiday. School youth and children met with war veterans in North Phyongan, South Hwanghae, North Hwanghae, North Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces. Colorful performances given in major places in Pyongyang and provinces revved up the festive atmosphere. The desire and enthusiasm of the successors to usher in a new era of the overall national prosperity, preserving the precious ideological and spiritual wealth handed down by the victorious wartime generation, were manifested at the dancing parties held across the country.
