Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) — Sci-tech presentations in the fields of chemical materials and the Tanchon Power Station construction were held at the Grand People’s Study House and by the command team of the Tanchon Power Station Construction Division from July 20 to 22. At the national sci-tech presentation in the field of chemical materials, divided into organic and inorganic chemical materials panels, the papers presented by Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering, and the State Academy of Sciences won a high appreciation for being conducive to putting the chemical industry on a Juche basis. During the presentation there was a lecture on the development trend of metal working fluid. Presented to the sci-tech presentation in the field of the construction of the Tanchon Power Station were more than 70 valuable scientific and technological achievements made in the course of research into reducing the construction cost and duration in the second-stage project of the Tanchon Power Station. The manufacturing drawing for dome broaching bit, enclosing gasket made of rubber composite for hydro-power station sluices, etc. attracted the attention of participants for they can support the construction of large-scale hydro-power stations of weighty significance in the development of the country’s electric power industry.
