平壌孤児中学校、10年間で教育・生活環境を改善

Pyongyang, July 2 (KCNA) — Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans in the DPRK has made progress in the work to improve the educational and living conditions for the past ten years. The school applied modern educational equipment and excellent teaching methods suited to its specific conditions and improved the students’ ability by making effective use of multifunctional classrooms and study rooms. It put its big efforts into improving the qualifications of teachers. Ten-odd persons with academic degrees were produced, and a large number of teachers won the title of October 8 Model Professor and new teaching method certificate. New teaching methods were developed and introduced to help the students study and pursue actively. The school also invented and made experimental apparatuses and teaching aids by itself. Achievements were made in keeping buildings, facilities and equipment and further consolidating the material and technological foundation. Amid the brisk work to improve the education and teaching, tens of students at the school were awarded the July 15 Top Honor Prize, and its students proved successful at several contests among schools for orphans across the country.
